The Type Calc is an essential tool for understanding the tactical relationship between your Pokémon and an opponent's team. It provides a comprehensive breakdown of Offensive Coverage and Defensive Vulnerabilities, helping you identify exactly where your team excels and where it might be exposed.
Matchup Analysis
Unlike a simple type chart, this tool evaluates interactions based on specific matchups. By selecting or importing an opponent's team, you can see how your active Pokémon's types and entire movepool perform against their specific composition.
Dynamic Insights: The calc updates in real-time as you switch Pokémon or change movesets, allowing you to instantly test different coverage options for your team.
Advanced Selection: You can select a primary target team by clicking it normally. To analyze a second team simultaneously, hold the Ctrl key (or Cmd on Mac) while clicking on another team. This combines the insights, helping you visualize your team's overall coverage against multiple threats at once.
Offensive Coverage
This section analyzes your ability to deal significant damage across the type chart:
- Super Effective Coverage: Identifies which elemental types are weak to at least one of your team's current moves.

- Weakness Summary: Aggregated data on your most frequent vulnerabilities.
- Resistance Summary: A count of how many hits you resist or are immune to across their team.
- Matchup Rating: A visual indicator of how favorable the overall type matchup is for your active Pokémon.
- Team Support: Suggestions on which teammates might best pair with your Pokémon to cover its specific defensive weaknesses.
